CARRIED

7        Reports

7.1     Golden Bay Recreation Park Activity report

Grant Reburn took the report as read and spoke to the flooring solutions for the changing rooms. Expecting a quote for the upgrade from Scotts Construction.

Anthony is keen on a more purpose built changing rooms.

Options discussed were :

·    St John building ( needing to find out about the current lease, when St John are moving and what other groups currently use the building.

·    Underneath the grandstand  - although most are happy with this being kept for storage use and relevant groups to have keys.

·    Extending the current Rec Centre.

Chair Chris Hill asked to have it minuted that the decision for the storage / underneath the grandstand is an operational decision.

Mr McKenzie mentioned that the outdoor light at end of building needs to be tilted downwards.

And that we need to look at options to remove birds from the grandstand.

Football floodlights should be being installed this week, it was asked about timers and how they would be getting switched off. Also questioned about how the timers get reset after power cuts.

4.2 carpark options, it was suggested that a strip wide enough for one car could be a starting option.

We are aware that Menzshed are exploring other options other than the lease that has been approved at the Rec park and we will await their decision. Some issues came to light with infrastructure costs and perhaps the scope of the project.

Discussed the location the committee would like to hold these meetings going forward, it was agreed to hold at the Rec Park. Amanda will book the next two meetings 12 June and 10 September

Check with the Democracy team about Athletics being added to the committee as a new member and whether Jenna Bowden was formally changed for Football.

Mr McKenzie pointed out a leak near the discus throwing area and it was mentioned that the hose needs to be permanently fitted onto the pipe.

That the Golden Bay Rec Park Management Committee receives the Golden Bay Recreation Park Activity report.
